The Warm Heart of Africa

  • Destination:
  • Duration: 7 nights
  • Price: US$2,730

Combining the excitement of experiencing Africa’s wildlife with the spectacular sun drenched beaches of Lake Malawi, this 7 day trip highlights two of Southern Malawi’s premier destinations, Majete National Park and the Nankumba Peninsula of Lake Malawi.

Located in the Southwest corner of the country, Majete National Park is one of Malawi’s largest protected areas and spans roughly 70,000 acres. It is also Malawi’s only Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino) reserve. Ideally situated at the confluence of the Mkulumadzi and Shire rivers, Mkulumadzi camp provides stylish and luxurious bush accommodation from which to venture out on safari.

Leaving the solitude of the bush behind, your journey will take you through the beauty and scenic wonder of Malawi’s rural landscape. Arriving at Lake Malawi, Pumulani offers luxurious beach accommodation from its hillside perch overlooking expansive views of the “Lake of Stars” below. Whether simply soaking up the sun and swimming in the perfectly clear blue waters of the lake or choosing a more active form of vacation pleasure, Lake Malawi offers a myriad of waterborne experiences. Above all, you will have ample opportunity through interaction with your gracious hosts and village visits to discover why Malawi’s people truly make this country the “warm heart of Africa”.

Day 1

Arriving at Blantyre International Airport, your Malawian ‘meet and greet’ host will assist you on arrival and then drive the 2.5 hrs through Malawi’s beautifully varied rural landscape to deliver you to Mkulumadzi camp in the Majete National Park.

Day 2-4
