Explore Uganda on Safari

A Safari in Uganda, with it’s wild forested interiors, is infused with an aura of exploration and adventure.  Bordering Rwanda to the north, it shares borders and a substantial part of Lake Victoria, with Kenya & Tanzania to the East.

The capital city of Kampala as well as the city of Entebbe are both situated to the South of the country and provide easy access to Bwindi Impenetrable Park and Queen Elizabeth NP which are the two focused safari regions.

Bwindi Impenetrable Natl Park

The Bwindi Impenetrable National Park lies in the southwestern part of the country on the edge of the Rift Valley.  Blanketed by thick mist, the hillsides are part of some of Uganda’s most biologically diverse and oldest rainforests which date back over 25 000 years and are home to almost 400 plant and over 120 mammal species.  More importantly this ‘impenetrable’ rainforest is home to about half of the world’s mountain gorillas of which several habituated groups can be trekked.  Other mammal sightings include baboons, chimpanzees, elephants and antelope and over 350 bird species of which 23 are endemic.

Explorations Africa

The rich and diverse Ugandan culture and traditions are handed down from generation to generation – not in books, but underneath the mango trees by the village elders.  There is more to Uganda than gorillas, chimpanzees, primates, wildlife and scenery – but this Pearl of Africa is rich with traditions and ceremonies that can be widely experienced throughout the country.

Travel Tips

Explorations Africa

Start your journey with gorilla-trekking before going on safari and be sure you are without any ‘sniffles’ or illness.  Gorillas are very susceptible to human diseases and you’ll be denied trekking if you turn up sick.   With direct flights on KLM straight from Amsterdam into Entebbe, Uganda is the perfect start to your safari.
